Since its launch in 2000, the National College for School Leadership (NCSL) has made a significant investment in online learning communities and brought thousands of school leaders together to learn in talk2learn, its bespoke online learning environment. We are sharing some of that experience with you in this book.

We aim to:

• demonstrate the powerful benefits that online learning communities can bring to the professional development of school leaders and others
• offer ideas, tips and guidance to schools and others thinking about establishing their own communities
